In the spring of 2019, I took a purposeful pivot in my career: I left Nike to take my first sabbatical after 20 years of working. We kicked it off with a bucket-list trip with friends to New Zealand, followed by a 30-day road trip around the southwestern US in our 1987 VW Westfalia Vanagon.
This creative pause allowed me to
• Achieve more mental, physical, and spiritual balance
• Get clear on my passions
• Redefine my identity in relation to a paycheck
